Car Crashes Down Embankment In Hudson Valley, Causes Road Closure

A Hudson Valley road had to be temporarily closed after a car with two people inside crashed down an embankment and hit a tree.

The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, May 7 around 2:30 p.m., when first responders were sent to Hill Street in Mahopac on a report of a vehicle crashing into an embankment, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. 

Once emergency responders arrived at the scene, they discovered that the two occupants had been able to get out of the car on their own and had suffered minor injuries. 

Both occupants were evaluated at the scene but ultimately refused any further medical treatment. 

Following the crash, the road was closed while Stillwater Auto Body towed the car out of the embankment. After this, the road was then reopened to traffic.
